{"id":522,"date":"2023-12-04T10:09:39","date_gmt":"2023-12-04T10:09:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/will-sea.devetek.com\/index.php\/2023\/12\/04\/42-projects-selected-for-eu-funding\/"},"modified":"2024-02-09T17:42:00","modified_gmt":"2024-02-09T17:42:00","slug":"42-projects-selected-for-eu-funding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deepseafibre.com\/index.php\/2023\/12\/04\/42-projects-selected-for-eu-funding\/","title":{"rendered":"42 projects selected for EU funding"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 class=\\\"ecl-page-header__title\\\">42 projects selected for EU funding of up to \u20ac260 million under second CEF Digital calls<\/h1>\n<p><strong>The Commission has selected 42 projects among those submitted under the CEF Digital second round of calls for proposals.\u00a0<\/strong>The European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) is now in the process of concluding the signature of the grant agreements.<u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Subject to the grant agreements signatures, the projects will receive funding to<strong>\u00a0deploy safe, secure, and sustainable high-performance 5G and digital backbone\u00a0<\/strong>infrastructure, for a total funding amount of up to \u20ac260 million<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 42 projects involve coordinators from 18 different countries and a total of 179 partners.<\/p>\n<p>The projects range from deployment of 5G infrastructure for local communities and along major European transport corridors, to deployment of submarine cables within and to the EU.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\\\"https:\/\/hadea.ec.europa.eu\/news\/cef-digital-calls-open-over-eu240-million-available-co-funding-third-calls-proposals-deploying-2023-10-17_en\\\">The third round of calls for proposals<\/a><button class=\\\"wt-unselected wt-laco wt-laco--button\\\" title=\\\"Search for available translations\\\" type=\\\"button\\\" aria-controls=\\\"laco-modal\\\"><\/button>is currently\u00a0<strong>open until 20 February 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Background<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The EU\\&#8217;s financial contribution comes in the form of grants with different co-financing rates. The CEF Digital programme funds both feasibility studies and deployment projects across the EU.<\/p>\n<p>Under the CEF Digital Programme,\u00a0<strong>\u20ac<\/strong><strong>1.6 billion<\/strong>\u00a0has been made available for grants from the EU\u2019s 2021-2027 budget to co-fund\u00a0projects in the Europe. CEF Digital is part of the larger Connecting Europe Facility programme, which also funds Energy and Transport infrastructure to promote growth, jobs, inclusiveness, and competitiveness.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Next steps<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Following the EU Member States\u2019 positive opinion on\u00a0<strong>16 October 2023<\/strong>, the Commission has\u00a0<a href=\\\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/transparency\/documents-register\/detail?ref=C(2023)8110&amp;lang=en\\\">adopted\u00a0a formal selection decision<\/a><button class=\\\"wt-unselected wt-laco wt-laco--button\\\" title=\\\"Search for available translations\\\" type=\\\"button\\\" aria-controls=\\\"laco-modal\\\"><\/button>\u00a0on the list of selected projects.
